Townsville Central is now over 150 years old. It is the oldest school in Townsville and is located on the site of the original Townsville Gaol. The school has the best site in the city, situated in North Ward and in walking distance to the Strand, Queens Gardens, Castle Hill, Townsville Sports Reserve (Red Track) and the CBD.
