The school library is a wonderful facility with different learning areas, enabling it to be utilised for many different functions and events throughout the school year. It also contains our technology room, and houses information on the rich 150 year history of Townsville Central.
Every class participates in library borrowing on a weekly basis, having access to a wide range of fiction and non fiction books at an age appropriate level.
There are many events throughout the year that celebrate reading and libraries! We aim to celebrate as many as possible. A highlight on the school calendar is always our Book week celebrations which coincides with our book fair and culminates in our annual book week parade. Children dress up as their favourite book character and are treated to a wonderful rendition of a storybook by the teachers and teacher aides.
Our library aims to be a warm and welcoming place for children to come and use their imagination, play games and discover the wonderful world of books.
