At Townsville Central, all students enrolled from prep to year 6 have a 30 minute weekly classroom music lesson. Music forms part of The Arts learning area within the Australian National Curriculum. In classroom music lessons, students develop aural skills and learn basic theory of music elements. In these lessons, students learn through singing, playing music games, playing a range of classroom percussion instruments and completing written activities.
