App of the Week

​​​​Apps are available for iPhones, iPads, smartphones & tablets. Many of these are useful for our parents and students. App of the Week - they are listed here for future reference - where possible links are provided to websites associated with apps. If no website is listed, you will need to search for apps by name on your device.  

Skoolbag is our own school - parent smartphone communication app. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play and receive alerts and notifications to your smartphone.

QSchools is a convenient way to receive up-to-the-minute information from and about schools. The app is designed to integrate with our school website, and allows users to see when news, events and newsletters are posted to the school website. The school community can also receive emergency announcements such as natural disasters and school closures through the app. The QSchools app will be particularly useful to parents who have students in different schools, as the app manages updates from multiple schools in a single view.

All Queensland state schoo​ls​ are searchable via the app. 

It introduces the hundred most common words in reading, so a great way to help children learn their sight words.  It also has a number of other activities that you can make at home  to help reinforce the learning of your child’s words. 

The words may not be covered in exactly the same order that we do, but overall, they won’t be too  different.  What is really good is that the spoken version of the word is an Australian pronunciation.

School A to Z is an app designed by NSW Department of School and Communities. ​It is designed to be a practical help to parents and includes information on maths, English, spelling, technology and assignment help.    

Apps Gone Free alerts users to free apps for that day! It is usually a mix of photography apps, puzzle apps, arcade apps and arcade apps.

Chicken Coop Estimation game s a fun game to help children estimate the decimal equivalent of proper and improper fractions - aimed more at upper primary students.

Blocks is an app that encourages children (and adults!) to think spatially.​
